Well, don't we all?!!!
But there was something that I read online the other day, I found QUITE interesting! And I'm not certain how it would work, but I thought I would share it just in case...
It was an article about avoiding paying income tax. Sounds intriguing right?
Well, it wasn't as juicy as I had hoped, but one thing that they did say, was about getting a raise from your company.
We all want more money, right? Maybe you are up for a promotion or pay increase, but the money isn't a lot or so much is coming out in taxes that it doesn't trickle down into your pocket....
How about: instead of asking your boss for a raise, ask for better health insurance coverage? Especially if you are going to the doctor a lot, have diabetes, have young children, are thinking about getting pregnant, have teens who need braces, etc.
Can your employer give you a better insurance plan that will decrease the amount that you spend monthly/annually at the doctor/dentist?
I don't know how feasible it is. It's a whole Human Resources thing, but the guy writing the article mentioned it and I found it very interesting! Maybe it's very tricky, but it's worth a shot!
Btw, the employer wins, too. By not paying you more payroll, they save on employer taxes and worker's compensation insurance (Paid by the employer based on how much income they pay at straight time) and you are a happier employee!
And maybe, by suggesting it to your boss that it's a win-win for both parties, that he will see you as being an "outside of the box" thinker, or as a "team player" and you'll get the promotion, the raise, AND the better benefits!!!! :)
